Explora Films is once again faithfully attending the main TV content market from the Asia-Pacific area: Asia TV Forum (ATF), which is held from 3 to 6 December in Singapore. Explora Films presents its latest wildlife and anthropological productions, as well as the company’s new projects. “Cuba: Life Shelter” (1 x 52’) and “Cuba: The Pearl of the Caribbean” (1 x 52’) are two one-off which outline two different profiles about the island. Both documentaries will be showcased for a very first time to the Asiatic audiences. The first one is a wildlife and nature approach to the astonishing geography and geology of the island. Explora Films attends IDFA 2013 (International Documentary Festival Amsterdam), to close International financing of the documentary project “Chillida, the Depth of Air”. IDFA is one of the major documentary Festivals in the International panorama and takes place from November 20th to December 1st. It is hold in Amsterdam every year and brings together the most important producers, filmmakers and TV executives in the worldwide documentary sector. Explora attends IDFA for the very first time to showcase its new documentary project: “Chillida, the Depth of Air”, a story focused on the artwork by this International sculptor. A company’s leadership depends on its ability to renew itself without losing its essence. Following this point, Explora Films has decided on renewing its image with a new website and a more modern logotype; both of them made by the Spanish web-development company “Magnitude”. Light is the main character in this new website. A clearer and cleaner appearance is provided by both the new colour scheme and the image style. These become an essential element of each section. In regard to the content, the most basic sections remain in place but navigation has become easier and quicker thanks to a new functional design. Furthermore, the distribution department’s work is now highlighted in the new website as a key part in the company. The new logotype adapts the essence of its predecessor while making it cleaner. The members of the jury at Doñana’s Scientific & Environmental Film Festival 2013 has decided to award “Elephants: The Twilight of the Giants”, produced by Explora Films and directed by Fernando González Sitges. The main event took place during the first week of October and brought together a  good sample of high-quality wildlife documentaries. As every year does, Explora Films will be attending at the main TV content market around the world: MIPCOM 2013. MIPCOM will take place in Cannes (France) from October 7th to 10th and, once again, it will bring together leading audiovisual companies and the main broadcasters. Explora Films presents, at this market’s premiere, two documentaries with the same main character: The island of Cuba. “Chillida: The Depth of Air” has been selected at the IX Co-production Forum “Lau Haizetara” which takes place during the San Sebastian International Film Festival’s week. This documentary project is a co-production between Explora Films, Marmoka and TVE with the collaboration of Eduardo Chillida-Pilar Belzunce foundation and the Zabalaga-Leku; which is raising a lot of interest in the international market, especially in Europe and North-America. Explora Films’ productions have been recognized once again at two of the most important nature and archaeology-themed film festivals around Europe. “Spirits of the Congo” by Fernando González Sitges is nominated at the Ménigoute Film Festival (France) and “The Lady of Cao” by José Manuel Novoa is one of the Audience Award’s nominees at “La Rassegna Internazionale del Cinema Archeologico” in Rovereto (Italy).   The Ménigoute Film Festival, focused on ornithology and conservation, holds its 29th celebration from October 29th to November 3rd in the French city of Ménigoute.
