Chillida en San Sebastián“Chillida: The Depth of Air” has been selected at the IX Co-production Forum “Lau Haizetara” which takes place during the San Sebastian International Film Festival’s week.

This documentary project is a co-production between Explora Films, Marmoka and TVE with the collaboration of Eduardo Chillida-Pilar Belzunce foundation and the Zabalaga-Leku; which is raising a lot of interest in the international market, especially in Europe and North-America.

This breathtaking documentary will be written and directed by Juan Barrero, one of the most talented and innovative directors in Spain’s panorama. Barrero has worked for some of the most important broadcasters around the world, such as ARTE (France), ZDF (Germany), YLE (Finland), TBS (Japan) or Al Jazeera Documentary Channel, among others.

“Chillida: The Depth of Air” introduces us to the striking figure of the Spanish sculptor Eduardo Chillida on a journey which is told through the map of his hands, the starting point of his artwork. This also allows us to learn further about the great sculptor, through the powerful influence he exercise today over writers, mathematicians, dancers, philosophers, musicians or architects all over the world.

This means an extraordinary opportunity to discover the full of life path of a boy from the Spanish Postguerra, a boy who just wanted to be a professional goalkeeper and who, because of a fatal injury, ended up becoming one of the most important modern sculptors, along with Rodin, Brancusi, Giacometti and Calder.
