Deep within the Ecuadorean Amazon, there is a park that is considered home to the greatest biodiversity in the world. It is Yasuní National Park, which was declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1989. Yasuní is a paradise on Earth, but a paradise that has its own tempting apple. Because Yasuní National Park is literally floating on oil. Today the future of Yasuní is hanging by a thread. And Ecuador is not a rich country that can afford to ignore the enormous profits of oil. Backed by the declarations made by Rafael Correa, the President of Ecuador, who has offered the international community the chance to buy bonds equivalent to 50% of the profits that would be generated by the oil in Yasuní in exchange for prohibiting forever oil drilling in the national park. A man: Ginés Haro together with his team have sprung into action to demonstrate the enormous benefits that Mankind and the planet as a whole would obtain if the natural wealth of Yasuní were left intact.
